2. Planning Workshop for Two-Year College Faculty (Apply by April 2)
(Apply by April 2; July 11-13, AGU Headquarters, Washington, D.C.)

Attendees of this workshop will discuss the development of a program within the American Geophysical Union (AGU) to strengthen the role of two-year college Earth and space science students in the future workforce. Support to attend the meeting will be provided for approximately 30 two-year college Earth and space science faculty who are currently engaged in research with their students, or who have a strong interest in developing a research program. Also encouraged to apply are four-year college faculty who are currently partnering on research programs with two-year college faculty. A variety of expert speakers and panelists from two- and four-year schools, professional societies, and federal organizations will help frame and build discussion on best practices in and barriers to building and maintaining such research programs. 4. NASA's policy on Swag (Executive Order 13589 -- Promoting Efficient Spending)

NASA has interpreted the Executive Order 13589 (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2011/11/09/executive-order-pr...) in the following way:

Rather than list items that are prohibited, NASA had published an exclusive list of items that are permitted for purchase and distribution: printed materials, stickers, lapel pins, inexpensive mission patches, flown flags. Items not on this list will not be allowed for purchase and distribution. For printed materials and stickers, there needs to be technical or educational information as a part of the product.
